The ARCA Menards Series East will conclude its 2023 season with the Sioux Chief Showdown 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday, Sept. 15. The race will be the 12th and final event of the season for the East Series and will determine the series champion.

Race preview

The Sioux Chief Showdown 200 will be the first ARCA East race at Bristol Motor Speedway since 2019. The race will be 200 laps around the 0.533-mile oval. Sammy Smith enters the race as the defending race winner. He led 191 laps and won the race by more than two seconds over Derek Griffith. Smith also enters the race as the points leader in the ARCA East standings. He has a 15-point lead over Taylor Gray with one race remaining in the season. Gray is the only other driver who has a mathematical chance to win the championship. He would need to win the race and have Smith finish 15th or worse. The Sioux Chief Showdown 200 is sure to be a thrilling race with the championship on the line. Smith and Gray are both talented drivers who are capable of winning the race.
