Fort Worth, Texas, is in for a celestial treat on May 15-16, 2023. The city will witness a rare astronomical event, a total lunar eclipse coinciding with a supermoon. This extraordinary phenomenon, commonly known as a "Blood Moon," will paint the night sky with an ethereal crimson hue.

What to Expect

During a total lunar eclipse, the Earth, Moon, and Sun align perfectly, with the Earth positioned between the other two celestial bodies. As the Moon passes through the Earth's shadow, sunlight is blocked, causing the Moon to appear red due to the scattering of blue light.

When and Where to See the Eclipse

The total lunar eclipse will be visible in Fort Worth and most of North America on May 15-16, 2023. The partial eclipse will begin around 9:32 PM CST, with totality occurring between 11:29 PM and 12:54 AM CST. The penumbral eclipse will end around 2:54 AM CST.
