Two-Run Rally In 8th Gives Twins 4-3 Walk-Off Win Over Red Sox

Luis Arraez singled home the winning run with two outs in the eighth inning, giving the Minnesota Twins a 4-3 walk-off win over the Boston Red Sox on Saturday night at Target Field.

The Twins trailed 3-1 entering the eighth inning but rallied against Red Sox reliever John Schreiber (0-1).

Max Kepler led off with a single, and Gio Urshela followed with a walk. Carlos Correa then singled to load the bases.

Schreiber struck out Jose Miranda for the first out, but Gilberto Celestino singled to right to score Kepler and Urshela to tie the game.

Arraez then lined a 1-2 pitch to right field, scoring Correa with the winning run.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Twins (14-14) and moved them into a tie with the Red Sox (14-14) for second place in the AL Central.

Buxton Homers, But Red Sox Prevail 8-5 Over Twins

Byron Buxton hit a two-run homer in the first inning, but the Boston Red Sox rallied for an 8-5 win over the Minnesota Twins on Friday night at Target Field.

The Red Sox scored three runs in the second inning off Twins starter Griffin Jax (2-2) to take a 3-2 lead.

The Twins tied the game in the third on an RBI single by Gio Urshela, but the Red Sox regained the lead in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Trevor Story.

The Red Sox added two more runs in the fifth on an RBI single by Xander Bogaerts and a sacrifice fly by Christian Vazquez.

The Twins cut the lead to 7-5 in the sixth on an RBI single by Jose Miranda, but the Red Sox added an insurance run in the eighth on a solo homer by Alex Verdugo.

The loss dropped the Twins to 13-14 on the season, while the Red Sox improved to 14-13.
